When choosing a skateboard consider your options. Most boards measure between 7 ½ to 8 ¼ inches wide. Wider boards offer better stability for half pipes, turning, and stability. A narrower board is better for tricks and flips. A good compromise size would be an 8 in. wide board. Select the concavity of the deck which has a raised, tail and sides. The flatter the board the easier it is to ride making it the best choice for the novice skater. For more information on how to select a board select "How to choose a skateboard" link.
