Youth Skateboards and Safety Equipment
What size of skateboard? - This is a good question, but at this stage (as a kid) the size of the skateboard isn't so important. Getting one on the smaller side is a good idea, but don't worry too much about it.Buying a "Complete" skateboard, one that comes fully built is a good idea to begin with.
Skateboards for kids run from around $50 to $100 and will be perfect for your six year olds' new hobby. This might still seem like a lot compared to the $20 Batman skateboard at the store - those cheaper boards may be poorly made, dangerous, and no fun. You are far better off buying a better board and safety equipment!
There are many types and sizes of skateboards to choose from. For the beginner find a board that is suited to the size of the skater. Childrens boards should be based on weight, size, and height as indicated below.
